Can I work on campus?

Yes! International students studying in the United States on F-1 visas can typically work on campus. However, certain restrictions and requirements may apply. After accepting an on-campus job, check with international services to ensure you can work in your new position. 

How many hours per week can I work?

International students with F-1 visa status can work up to 20 hours per week on campus during the academic year and full-time (40 hours per week) during official university breaks and holidays.

What kinds of jobs are available on campus?

On-campus jobs available to you may include positions in the Welder Library, the Lumen Vitae University Center, the Crow's Nest, administrative offices, labs, and more. Will I need a work permit?

Your F-1 visa status suffices as authorization for on-campus work. You’ll have no need to acquire a separate work permit.

What documents do I need to supply to work on campus?

You’ll need your F-1 visa, your Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status), and a valid passport. You may also need to submit paperwork to obtain a Social Security number (SSN).

Can I work during the summer?

Yes! International students can usually work full-time on campus during official university breaks and holidays.
